    A defensive apology but a step in the right direction. Here’s hoping that Dr. Brown will soon see the correctness of your arguments generally.

    I don’t believe that Dr Brown is consciously dishonest either, but it can seem that way because he often fails to respond to what the other person believes to be the strongest part of their argument. He likes to talk specifics until he has no answer and then he bounces back out to the vague general. Or he says “I’ll pray for you,” which in his mind probably means he thinks the other person isn’t understanding for spiritual reasons, but it feels a bit demeaning and frustrating because the pairing of humility with truly rigorous reasoning is honesty’s guarding of the heart against reliance on unbridled intuition…which is more vulnerable to emotional and social influences.
