Interesting, I wonder how faithfully it reflects the dialogue. Roman Catholicism is often antinomian, in its acceptance of confession, ‘remission’ & recurrence in sin. The NT is not 1 Cor.6.9-11, Gal.5.21, Rev.21.8 etc.
Does Ramban’s reported view of human ability to do good himself reflect the prophets? I doubt he had so shallow an acquaintance with the texts, and suspect some Hollywood, humanistic interpolation, Jer.17.5-9, Isa.59.1-16; 49.8-12.
Deuteronomy 30:11-14 tells us that we can do good – not perfect – but good.
