Rabbi you are one of the few Rabbi’s who addresses Dr. Brown face to face and takes on is challenges. Please continue to do so. You have nothing to be afraid because you have the truth.

Would it be correct to say that according to scripture in order to be forgiven, Judaism teaches that prayer and repentance is required and in Christianity human sacrifice was required? Christians say you still have to repent but Gal 2:21 seems to say differently.

    Rav Blumenthal, excellent as always.

I note that in this encounter with Dr. Brown as was the case in your other public exchanges with him a couple of things emerge to the astute listener

    1. He has no sense of duty to adhere to ground rules. He views any encounter with a an Orthodox Jew as calling for a regurgitation of any and all missionary talking points regardless of how irrelevant they are to what is ostensibly the focused subject of a particular exchange. In addition to it being rather annoying , it was laughably egregious here in his foundational failure to even attempt to engage the criteria you listed as definitional to the question. He simply takes your headline phrase of “totality of scripture” and proceeds to run with it and explain how the totality of his world view (and personal experience) of how God should act is how totality of scripture should be defined as if that even began to address your question.
    2. Among such points not related to the topic, that he brought up in connection with several of your questions in this long dialogue was the christian insistance that Daniel 9 mandates the arrival of Jewish redemptive messiah while the second temple stood. Again in his game plan, it’s a talking point and it’s fair game to bring it any time a Jew agrees to sit down on camera next to him. From his perspective if he does a similar installment on his website he’ll likely say you didn’t address it. So perhaps you might want to reiterate the counterarguments or link to prior treatments of them.

    Have a great Shabbos.
